Day 3 - by Ellen Severson

We started our day in the Elah Valley and stopped at the site of the David and Goliath encounter up on a breezy hill with a beautiful view of the valley.

We took a look at an archaeological dig and descended down steep stone steps into a cave of an ancient water system.

An Olive Oil Press
At Ekron, we learned about the site that was the center of Philistine olive oil production in the 7th century BCE. There were reproductions of an olive press, a loom and spinning room, cultic objects and a 4-horned altar.

The day ended with a visit to the newly remodeled Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

Tonight we dine near the Jaffa Gate and spend the night at the Dan Panorama.
